An invitation for tea and marshmallows!

A well-set table laden with delicious plastic food (apart from real marshmallows),

a very elegant host,

many other guests, 

an exquisite hand-painted tea set,

(some real size tea cups for 'human-sized' guests),

(a shoe free place)

and the company of a furry guest (Toffee) that never fails to attend any of these events!

A lovely afternoon.

Ordinary days, good days

1 - Leftover fabric for a new quilt (barely) started months ago

4 - Some hours spent in the park (two of my favorite flowers there)

6 - A tropical balcony I saw, somewhere in the city

8 - Playing cards with M. and M. this weekend

Recently enjoyed things

1 - Watching Toffee and Crispy sleeping, mirroring each other
2 - Butter and jam toast + J's sketches
3 - A long walk on this beach
4 - Finding a long lost favorite shirt (in an unbelievable place...)
5 - Browsing through a warehouse packed with old furniture
6 e 7 - Brunch with friends in a nice new place: Café Tati
8 - Yummy pizza bread

Mia: current favorite spot for naps

I am always amazed with the extreme accuracy cats have in chosing the most confortable places and positions for napping. This one became Mia's favorite place for the last couple of months (in case you are wondering she in ON my yoga 'stretcher'). All it took was to leave a pillow laying there for a single day and...there she was! 

Rainy weekend in S. Martinho do Porto

Inspite the weather, the temperature in S. Martinho was mild enough for long walks. The misty weather has its magic:

This time of the year, the "Santos Populares" (Popular Saints) are celebrated in many areas of the country, and here is no exception. Every year a street market is on and I love to see the main street full of color (it was a lot less crowded than in the previous years when the sunny weather was more inviting for such outings).

Cool weather is also nice because it gives us the chance to enjoy a nice warm fireplace and this time we combined this 'unexpected source of heat' (considering we are nearly in summer) with the pleasure of eating the first cherries of the year (such an unusual combination)...

 Mia came along and had loads of fun running up and down the stairs all day long (cats are crazy)!

Mia: Hiding

When I got home today she wasn't waiting for me at the door as usual... I called her, searched for her in the usual 'nap-favorite-places'... not a sound. Then, as I was passing by, I noticed a white patch of fur behind the pillows and there she was, hiding, not wanting to be disturbed with my early arrival!

Summer is too hot this year. Even in the late at night it feels like a sauna... specially for Mia. She keeps stretching in every bit of floor that seems cooler. Maybe I should cut away a bit of her fur?
