Late brunch in a lovely place

A lazy morning was the best excuse to go out for brunch. We tried a new place, in a lovely and quiet neighbourhood called Praca das Flores (literally 'the flowers square'). Afterwards we walked towards the downtown area, always choosing unknown streets. Found really lovely places. More photos of this walk on a next post. Have a great Easter everyone!

Lunch in the vila and walk in "Quinta da Regaleira"

Lovely spinach crepes and sandwiches for lunch (in the famous "Piriquita"), followed by a visit to "Quinta da Regaleira" with its romantic palace and chapel and surrounding park, featuring lakes, wells and fountains - meant to be an iniciatic journey. Quite worth visiting:

Showing Sintra to a friend

A lovely sunny Saturday, showing beautiful Sintra to a good Canadian friend. No matter how many times I go to this place I always see new details.

It was the first time I noticed this Arts School and it was possible to go in/up and see the view. It was nice to see what the students were working on.

An image a day

A few years ago a good friend of mine offered me a beautiful 'Tibetan book of offerings'. There is  a sentence and a photo for each day. I had it close by for many years but somehow I lost track of were it was and today I found it again. This was the page for today:

In the evening, I tried to organize some of the photos we took while we were on holidays,

And this was my favorite!

Holidays seem so far away already...

Up the hill to Castelo dos Mouros, in Sintra (Sintra's Mourish Castle)

A lovely walk towards Sintra's Mourish Castle in the company of friends was the best Sunday program ever! The freshness of the hills, the greenish landscape, the ripe blueberries (handpicked), and when back to the historic center, a visit to an iconic 'patisserie' called 'Piriquita' to eat the best 'travesseiros' in the whole wide world (a special pastry made with egg custard and puff pastry covered with sugar).

A colorful day

1 - Icy juices sold on the street, made me wonder what goes in that stuff to get such colours?
2 - Free bowling on the streets of Nazaré, just ask for the ball in the nearest coffeeshop
3 - Making card boxes?
4 - Today's special: beetroot, ginger and apple juice. Natural colour!
5, 6, 7 - My niece's things all over the place look like unusual 'art instalations' in unexpected places
8 - Late breakfast: mint tea, toast and strawberry jam
9 - "Bumba meu boi", a traditional brazilian piece made of clay (mending broken bits)
10 - Folding beautiful old towels...
11 - ... and napkins...
12 - ... because 'some cat' managed to make a mess out of a tidy closet!
13, 14 - Green days should come more often
