Stars, poems and socks

What better place to take in a beautiful poem, sentence? I collect the ones that stricke me as beauiful or meaningfull on a notebook but today I thought of hanging some of them on the front door (inside) so that they could be read by people walking out the door or arriving to our home. 

And what better way to enjoy a comfortable evening at home than to wear your (first ever) handmade pair of socks?

I have a soft spot for backpacks - not only are they perfect for travels but some have great design. As these ones. You can find them in the newly opened store in Chiado: Burel Factory Store. Worth a visit.

Beautiful drawings from the UrbanSketchers in Benfica

The project was to draw different 'iconic' places of this neighborhood so the UrbanSketchers were divided in groups of two and off they went with their sketchbooks. The drawings were gathered and turned into a beautiful book (available for sale in all major bookshops). I am bias so I took pictures of my favorite artist's sketchbook!

Easy meals to stay or to go

A japanese supermarket opened recently near my house. Now I can buy these wonderful seaweed meals frozen and eat at home. Happy days.

Prepacking my lunches is something I would like to be able to do more often. Somedays I manage to organize myself to do it (today I did!): pasta with mixed vegetables and juicy pineapple. Yum.

Walking to Terreiro do Paço

A much needed walk to feel the city and to walk were feet lead us.

A few more sparrows and the sky is the limit...

Today eleven new sparrows joined my kitchen flock! 

They all came from the same place: mercado do Bulhão, Porto. I am guessing I need eleven more so they will reach the tiny window on the opposite wall, maybe in a next visit.

A weekend in Gerês

You have to go there to experience the beauty of this place, Gerês is located in the north of Portugal, still unspoiled (a good part of it anyway). We escaped for a weekend and had a wonderful time, hiking, picnicking, enjoying a fire outside at nigh and watching the stars.

A view from the last floor of the famous and traditional department store "Polux" in the downtown area. Apart from finding here from plastic cups, to pillows, to carpets, to plastic flowers... you can also go upstairs, to the 7th floor and enjoy the view.

Today was one of those days. Those days when you can't stand any more noise. J took me to Expo, to see the river, it worked. Silence. Stillness. Air.
