Coming back

Coming home from holidays I visited my sister and nieces. Then, at home, begun the slow tidying up of all the things left undone. Its good to be back.

Sunset, warm bread and tremoços (lupins) @ the beach (Praia das Maçãs)

It has been such a long time since I came this way. When I was small my parents used to come here all the time, to this beautiful beach. I came with friends, and was the only one unable to dive in the (very cold) water of Praia das Maçãs (I am a tropical fish, for sure!).
Anyway the sunset was just perfect and we sat there, eating warm bread with chorizo (I eat only the bread) and lupins...

Mia: Hot cool cat

Summer is too hot this year. Even in the late at night it feels like a sauna... specially for Mia. She keeps stretching in every bit of floor that seems cooler. Maybe I should cut away a bit of her fur?

2 September 2012

Bye bye summer holidays...

This is our last day of summer holidays this year. We decided to linger outside, reading. I already miss these calm days...

"Ler Devagar" a wonderful bookshop in LX Factory, Lisbon

It was my first time in this bookshop and I can easily say it became one of my favorites. Amazing space.

England: Summer flowers - color therapy

You can't beat the vibrant green of England's gardens. Its not possible...!

27 August 2012

Different socks (regret not buying a pair!)

I found then on saturday morning's walk down to Portobello Road Market. Maybe next time...

New socks on the way

Holiday meals & cat

Confiture de Normandie au noix de coco, scrambled eggs with tomato and tapioca with peaches + pears. Yum!

France: Arrival at Chartres Cathedral in a special day, 22 August at 4.30 p.m. - Coincidence?

France: Sunset and night in Mont St. Michel

The magical moment of this day was... the sunset.
The abbey at night, with candle light and musicians playing inside was... unreal. You had to be there to experience the uniqueness of it all.

Mont St. Michel - simply out of this world

This is an amazingly beatiful place, it is located on an island just off the coast of the region of Lower Normandy in northern France. The island is best known as the site of the spectacular and well-preserved Norman Benedictine Abbey of St. Michel, at the peak of the rocky island, surrounded by the winding streets and convoluted architecture of the medieval town.
Its worth coming back, for sure!

Normand friends we met along the way

We were inspired and 'wrote' a poem

In Jacques Prevert house, we serie invited to compose a poem, chosing bits of sentences by Prevert, from 5 diferent boxes. This is what we came up with.
