Warmer walks

I haven't posted here in a while. The truth is I haven't used my (beloved) camera since I started  to post iphone photos here (a new addiction I must say), but lets be honest: its not the same thing...

Today, I picked up my camera from the drawer where it's been cocooning for the winter and found all these photos, taken in late October (2014) in Sintra, during one of the many walks...

... (and naps on the grass) enjoyed there.

I was particularly happy to see these next 2 pics, taken in the gardens of Palacio da Pena, where we found an old abandoned chapel. Really a magical place.

Long live warm(er) days!

winter sceneries - contrasts

Cityscapes - streets are dressing up for Christmas. Red and green ornaments, lights everywhere.

Countryscapes - nature is going inward, tunning down its colours. Brown, greyish light.

Summer colours

Waking up to a view of GREEN pine tree tops, filing the air with its intense perfume.

ORANGE coloured sand on the way to the beach.

Warm BALCK slate under our feet (or paws, in Mia's case).

Delicious RED roasted tomatoes and fresh bread, both cooked on a wood oven.

Endless days.

Holidays! Yay!

Officially on holidays, enjoying walks amongst pine trees on the way to the beach,

or ocasional naps after lunch on a shady place,

marveling at pink, warm, scented sunsets,

and indulging on whatever I feel like doing. No time. Just one moment after another. Bliss.

Mini holidays in Sintra - beautiful Almaa

Sometimes we are lucky enough to find a really nice place to spend some relaxed days. We just did.

We found Almaa, a lovely hostel with really nice owners, a lovely atmosphere and where we plan to return again and again.

It is located in magical Sintra, where else?

We felt right at home.
In the evening of our arrival we picked some books from the library, a cup of coffee and sat in the gardens enjoying a pink sunset.

Lovely tea and toasts for breakfast, the next morning!

Washed our plates and cups in a pink-sink-tub (the most appealing and original kitchen sink I've seen till this day). Everything here is either recycled or build with environmental care.

We made friends with magnificent Pavlov, the black (and omnipresent) labrador who loves buttered toast.
